Welcome to Round 1 of the MSC Season 7 Championship!

Round 1 of the newly branded Ricmotech MiniMite Sportscar Challenge takes place at VIR right in line with the timing of the real-life IMSA series this past weekend. This track typically affords great racing throughout the field and we look for two great 35-minute sprint races on Monday.

A few important notes for the opening week. It is important you have your iRacing radio working so that you can hear in-race instructions from the Race Steward. We IGNORE the iRacing green - the start for the two classes will be called by the Race Steward. In addition, because we are using the "Heat Racing" feature on iRacing, we have to do some manual sorting of the grid - especially for Race 2 each night when we will be inverting the top half of both classes. You must be able to hear the Race Steward's instructions for gridding in Race 2. Also, you should program your iRacing radio with channel: RSIM for "race steward instant message" as you can use that channel (and only that channel please) to notify the Race Stewards of an incident that you think they may have missed.

Finally, please join us at 7:10pm eastern time on Monday in the practice session for some practice starts before the mandatory drivers' meeting at 7:30pm. At 7:10pm we will line up both classes on the back straight and do at least two practice starts. And we usually finish that practice by having the GT4s line up in front of the LMP3s and then running a lap or two while everyone gets some practice with mixed-class passing in heavy traffic.
