SEASON 8, ROUND 1 - WATKINS GLEN

RACE: MONDAY, JANUARY 6

Welcome to Season 8, Round 1

Welcome to Season 8 of the Ricmotech MiniMite Sportscar Challenge. We kick off the new season at The Glen with a 60-minute race on a track that all you likely know very well. That means you also know the areas to focus on during practices this week! Don't just hot lap out there, but use the practice sessions to engage in some side-by-side racing, practice your pit entries and exits, and understand the timing and cooperation needed for mixed-class racing situations in different spots around the track.

Remember that you need to figure out your fuel strategy -- the fuel limit should allow everyone to run somewhere around 35 to 40 minutes on a full tank.

The practice session weather should be pretty close to what the actual race weather will be. But using the realistic weather option means that there will be some variation. Also, the track state may be slightly different because we start at 40% use and on race nights there is about 2 hours of practice before qualifying so there may be more debris and rubber build up by the time we get to qualifying on Monday night compared to the practice sessions.

The broadcast looks best when everyone has a paint submitted. It doesn't have to be fancy. And we have folks who will be happy to help you create a paint if needed. Just speak up on the Discord server.

OFFICIAL PRACTICE SCHEDULE

WEDNESDAYS: 5PM-7PM, 7PM-9PM EASTERN TIME

THURSDAYS: 8PM-10PM, 10PM-12AM EASTERN TIME

SUNDAYS: 4PM-6PM, 6PM-8PM, 8PM-10PM, 10PM-12AM EASTERN TIME

(Each official practice is based on the last 2 hours of the 4-hour race day session.)

30 Laps (Complete the minimum laps between all 8 practice sessions and earn a bonus point for this Round).

IMPORTANT PAINTS REMINDER

Deadline for submission of any paint changes for broadcast is NOON Eastern / 05:00PM GMT on Saturday. You may continue to submit, but any files received after that time will not be added to the paint pack until after Monday's race.
