iRACING RAIN UPDATE AND XMS
Many of us are excited about the new potential for adverse weather conditions to be a part of our sim events. As most have seen already by streamers out there, including IRL drivers, the realism of this new feature is quite astounding. That being said there is an enormous learning curve that comes along with competing in the rain. Even our own IRL drivers in our series have not had a ton of experience actually racing under rain conditions themselves.
In order for us to introduce this new feature, in the most optimum manner, we feel it is best to not bring it into play this season. When we do introduce rain, it will be done mildly and sometime next season. We will however be utilizing the new Tempest weather system with all its new variables. This will allow drivers an opportunity to practice with the rain for a couple months to at least familiarize themselves with the nuances of these conditions. As of right now, the only series that would be available is the World Challenge as the TCC and all SCS car classes are not fully developed for rain as of yet.
As we learn more about the new weather system in the coming months, we will continue to update our members and inform you with any adjustments to future events.
