2024 Fall Survey!

XMS Track Scheduling

We apologize for your efforts on this first survey; however, we have found there is a risk members could vote twice on the old voting system. We ask that you express your votes once again so as to have accurate information from all drivers for this important decision moving forward regarding Season Track selection. We are aware that the scheduling has been a bit of some controversy of late, and from it there has become the need for some voting on how we construct the schedules each season and intricacies involved. When considering these changes, we have gathered 5 options with specific details of each. Please read carefully before completing your answers as this survey applies to all Road Series. Reminder, we are introducing some spotty light rain this season, all based on IRL forecast, unless choices made below have an effect on the weather application. Please read carefully before completing your answers as this survey applies to all Road Series.

Your Response Options?

Option 1: (Current Scheduling) We choose 8 of the best 12 courses that are running in the official schedule. This provides our drivers the opportunity to utilize their favorite setup shops based on that official schedule. Issues: The setups are built for the weather conditions that iRacing has chosen for those events and XMS runs real world weather forecasts. That being said, there may still be adjustments needed to the car for final tweaking. In addition, if iRacing applies rain at a particular track and our event is not calling for rain, then we could have a little more work to do setup wise. We understand that there are setups from iRacing that are different conditions, but again more setup work. Option 2: (Current Schedule Modified) We choose 8 of the best 12 courses that are running in the official schedule. This provides our drivers the opportunity to utilize their favorite setup shops based on that official schedule. We now utilize the weather conditions that iRacing has chosen for those events and XMS no longer mimics real world weather conditions. Issues: If iRacing applies heavy rain, or rain conditions we may not want to run then we would have to back off the weather which could require setup adjustments once again.

Option 3: (Multi Schedule) We choose 8 of the best 12 courses that are running in the official schedule. Then replace any of those 8 that are repeats or tracks that are not of our choosing and replace them with a track that possibly ran last season officially that we did not run, enabling a setup to still be available but may need slightly adjusted from a possible new build release.

Option 4: (Hybrid) We choose 8 of the best 12 courses that are running in the official schedule. We then replace any of them that are repeats or tracks not to our choosing and replace them with tracks XMS chooses. Issues: There would be no direct official setups. However, most of us should have been saving past setups or utilize ones from other tracks with some adjustments.

Option 5: (XMS Scheduling) Revert back to the XMS Scheduling where the Staff chooses the schedule via a voting that goes out to the drivers to choose their favorite 8 out of 12 options provided. Some of these track choices may be timed in accordance with the official iRacing schedule or may not.
