Driver Name
10.4. Driver Infraction Points (“DIPs”). A core value of the League is clean racing. In order to track drivers who are struggling to race cleanly on a regular basis, we use Driver Infraction Points ("DIPs"). All drivers start the season with zero DIPs. Following each race, the League Admins will assign DIPs based on the following: (1) for in-race contact or other driver infractions for which the Race Steward issued a penalty during the race; (2) for exceeding the incident limit; and (3) for contact, obstructing a competitors progress or other in-race conduct reviewed by the League Admins post-race even when the Race Steward did not impose a penalty. It is possible for a driver to incur more than one DIP in a single race for multiple infractions. For example, a driver who hits and wrecks two different cars over the course of the race may incur two DIPs.
When a driver accumulates three DIPs, that driver will be placed on "probationary status". Once a driver accumulates a fourth DIP point, they will have to start the next race with an (EOL), starting from the End of Line of their respective class. A driver with DIPs from prior races can remove one DIP per clean race run after incurring a DIP. The assignment of DIPs is in addition to any in-race penalties that may have been issued and any championship point penalties that may be assessed post-race. DIP points do carry over from a prior consecutive season. If a driver skips a season, then he/she is reset to 0.
