Driver Name
Driver Infraction Points (“DIPs”). A core value of the League is clean racing. In order to track drivers who are struggling to race cleanly on a regular basis, we use Driver Infraction Points ("DIPs"). All drivers start the season with zero DIPs. Following each race, the League Admins will assign DIPs based on the following: (1) for at-fault incidents; (2) communication violations; (3) unprofessionalism/behavioral problems; and (4) race craft issues to include, but not limited to, over aggressive or reckless driving. It is possible for a driver to incur more than one DIP in a single race for multiple infractions.
When a driver accumulates three DIPs within a three-race period, that driver will be placed on "probationary status" for three weeks and receive a 10-point deduction from their overall season points. The driver will be required to race three clean consecutive races to be removed from “probationary status”. If a driver receives any penalty for any reason during their three-race probation, that driver will be in violation of their probation and will be subject to additional penalties and will have to start their probation over. A driver will only get three attempts to complete their probation. The first time a driver fails to complete their probation, they will receive another 10-point penalty, and the driver will not be allowed to qualify and be required to start from the rear for the next three races. The second time, the driver will receive another 10-point penalty and be suspended for one race. When the driver returns from their suspension, they will start their probation period over, not be allowed to qualify, and start from the rear for those three races. The third time a driver fails to complete their probation they will be removed from the series.
